Former Mrs. Orange County accused of selling child porn that showed relative

A former Mrs. Orange County was arrested Wednesday after deputies said she showed a sexually explicit photo of a 4-year-old family member to a Marine in exchange for money and gifts.

Investigators with the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force took Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, into custody in San Diego County during a traffic stop, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

She was booked on $100,000 bail on suspicion of producing and distributing child pornography and of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.

Alt, who was crowned Mrs. Orange County in 2014, showed the images of the child to a Marine stationed in Southern California, the Sheriff’s Department said. She was given cash and gifts, authorities said.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service learned about the images, and an investigation into her actions followed.

Authorities think Alt, an Irvine resident, also advertised adult services online, generally resulting in sex for money. Her children often were present during the exchanges, sheriff’s officials said.

After winning Mrs. Orange County, Alt went on to compete in Mrs. California in June 2014.

Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock told KTLA-TV Channel 5 that Alt is married and that her husband was unaware of her activities.

As a volunteer at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Alt helped take care of children at facilities in San Clemente and Irvine, authorities said.

Because Alt worked with children, authorities think there could be more victims.
