Shoplifter fleeing Macy’s douses guard with pepper spray, police say

A woman who allegedly pepper-spayed a security guard as she bolted from a Macy’s department store with $400 in stolen clothing is being sought by police in Santa Ana.

Authorities said the woman, who had tattoos lining both arms, jumped into a waiting silver Nissan and sped off with two men.

The woman was spotted inside the Main Place Mall department store at about 9 p.m. Tuesday walking off with the stolen clothing, police said.

When a security guard tried to stop her, police said, she shot the guard with pepper spray two times.

She then sprinted from the mall to the waiting car.

The woman was described as being in her mid-30s with dark red hair and tattoos on both arms.
