North Hollywood man stabs sister to death, LAPD says
A North Hollywood man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his 19-year-old sister to death, police said Wednesday.
Officers found a mortally wounded Raquel Martinez with multiple stab wounds in the 6000 block of Farmdale Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
She was taken to a local hospital, where she died. Officers apprehended a suspect several blocks away.
He was identified Wednesday as Mario Martinez, 23, and is the victim’s brother, the LAPD said.
At least 23 homicides have been reported in North Hollywood since January 2007, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
