Long Beach police Tuesday were looking for possible additional victims of a 40-year-old softball coach accused of contacting a 14-year-old girl to commit lewd acts.

Anthony Christopher Sota, an Anaheim resident, was arrested in November on suspicion of contacting a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts and sending harmful matter to a minor, Long Beach police officials said in a statement.

Police said investigators launched a probe in October after the incident was reported to authorities.

"The 14-year-old female victim was interviewed and it was learned that her travel softball coach sent her lewd text messages with the intent of meeting with the victim to carry out the lewd acts," police officials said.

"Investigators believe, based on the level of contact between Sota and young girls, that additional victims may exist who have never contacted police," officials said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sean Irving at (562) 570-7368.
