The names of the victims were being withheld until their families could be contacted, authorities said.

The couple was not robbed, and no motive is known at this time.

“We don’t have any idea who shot them,” said police Lt. Ronald McDonald. “It’s not believed to be gang related.”

Detectives urged anyone with knowledge of the shooting to call the Pomona police tip line at (909) 620-2085 or (800) 222-8477. Tips can be anonymous. Those who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect could be eligible for a $10,000 reward.

In the last 12 months, 21 people have been the victims of homicide in Pomona, according to The Times Homicide Report. All but two were shot to death.
