A teenage boy faces felony assault and conspiracy charges after egging a 60-year-old homeless woman who was praying on the sidewalk in Lancaster.

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy witnessed the alleged attack about 1 p.m. Monday near Sierra Highway and Jackson Avenue and arrested the teen, whom authorities did not identify. Two other teen males who were waiting in a nearby vehicle were also arrested. All three are minors.

The woman, who was struck once in her chest, complained of pain, but declined medical treatment, officials said.

Additional video evidence and items gathered in the vehicle the teens were riding in led deputies to believe “other prior incidents had occurred,” according to a Sheriff’s Department announcement. Officials posted images online of some of the items, including a mask, backpacks, a glove and what appears to be an Airsoft-type pellet gun.

All three teens were booked on suspicion of felony assault and conspiracy, according to the Sheriff’s Department. They were all held without bail and transported to the Sylmar Detention Facility.

Authorities urged any additional victims to come forward by contacting the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at (661) 948-8466.
