Reader photo: Word?

Share

Plenty of photographers are attracted to the signs of Los Angeles. And who wouldn’t be? From the bold signs to the retro ones, the typography of signs can be attractive to those who spend a lot of time taking photos.

Signs can also take on some meaning, rather than just announcing a location. Ron Burch snapped this photo at 826LA in Echo Park while there for a reading of some of his fiction at “Roar Shack,” a reading series curated by author David Rocklin. “Word” takes on a lot of meaning at 826LA, which not only hosts literary events, but mainly serves as a nonprofit organization that tutors and puts together creative writing workshops for children ages 6 to 18.

Burch took this photo with his iPhone 4S.

Each week, we’re featuring photos of Southern California submitted by readers. Share your photos on our Flickr page or reader submission gallery. Follow us on Twitter or visit latimes.com/socalmoments for more on this photo series.
