O.C. repairman accused of molesting girls during home-repair calls
Police say they have arrested a Garden Grove man who was called to perform repairs at area homes and, once inside, molested girls living there.
Hai Truong Vo, 39, was taken into custody Tuesday on suspicion of molesting a 7-year-old Westminster girl in 2011 and a 6-year-old Santa Ana girl in 2013, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Vo was working as a plumber and heating and air-conditioning repairman.
He was hired in 2011 and 2013 to perform repairs at the girls’ homes.
Once inside the homes, he found “an opportunity to be alone with the victims” and molested them, police said in a statement.
The girls are Vietnamese. Police believe he was targeting young girls in the Vietnamese community, using the newspaper Nguoi Viet to advertise his services.
He often advertised under “Joseph’s Plumbing Heating and A/C Repair.” Vo drove a white minivan and white Toyota Prius.
Detectives were looking for additional victims.
