A San Jose police officer was arrested on suspicion of supplying information to a Vietnamese street gang involved in gambling, drugs and extortion, authorities announced Wednesday.

The officer, identified by KNTV as Derrick Antonio, was booked on suspicion of five felony counts of unauthorized computer access and one count of being an accessory after the fact.

The officer, who has been with the department for more than nine years, allegedly helped a gang known in the San Jose area for operating out of Vietnamese cafes and businesses, police said. The investigation into the gang, dubbed “Operation Gang of Thrones,” launched in March and culminated in Antonio’s and others’ arrest Tuesday.

The gang was also involved in assaults and public corruption, authorities said. According to KNTV, 21 arrest warrants and 33 search warrants were served at local homes and businesses as part of the operation. San Jose police have scheduled a news conference for Wednesday afternoon.
