Firefighters battle four-alarm blaze in Santa Ana industrial park
Firefighters early Wednesday morning were battling a huge blaze at a business in Santa Ana.
The four-alarm fire broke out in an industrial park in the 2100 block of South Anne Street about 1:15 a.m., KTLA reported. Video from the scene showed firefighters using ladders to attack the blaze from above. Flames were blasting out of a building next to a stack of pallets.
“This is a commercial area. There was a number of pallets, metal containers on fire,” Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority told KTLA. “Our main goal was to keep the fire from spreading into the structure.”
Neighboring cities and an Orange County hazardous materials team were aiding in the effort. Officials were also concerned about toxic materials running into the water system.
“We do have runoff,” Concialdi said. “The city of Santa Ana is actively trying to mitigate that hazard with the runoff. ... They have loads of sand coming in as well.”
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
