A woman was wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon at a public park in San Pedro, authorities said.

The shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m. in Point Fermin Park, which is run by the city of Los Angeles, said LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not known, Eisenman said.

A witness told police that after the shooting, four men fled the scene in a vehicle, Eisenman said.
