Authorities searching for gunmen in fatal shooting

South L.A. shooting victim had been out celebrating her husband's birthday before her death

Authorities are looking for two suspects in the fatal shooting of a woman early Saturday in front of her home in South Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of West 104th Street at Normandie Avenue about 12:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Anthony Guyton said he and his wife, Tynisa, had just returned home from celebrating his birthday and were walking inside when the shooting occurred.

"Me and my wife were just going in the house and two guys rolled up and started shooting at us for no reason," he told reporters.

His wife, who suffered a gunshot wound to her upper torso, died at the scene, he said. The couple have three children, including a girl who was planning to celebrate her eighth birthday Saturday, he said.

"My wife was a beautiful person," Guyton said. "I just lost my best friend. She's gone. Just like an empty hole in my heart. My kids just lost their mother. I have no explanation for that. None whatsoever."

Deputies asked that anyone with information concerning the case call the Sheriff's Department homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. All tips can be made anonymously.
