Police have arrested one of the drivers of a car that carried three men to a Stockton bank in July where a violent heist occurred, women were taken hostage and a police chase ensued.

On July 16, the three men, armed with an AK-47-type rifle and handguns, robbed a bank in Stockton and took three women hostage to shield their escape. They fled, using an SUV that belonged to one of the hostages. Over the course of the next hour, they led police on a pursuit across San Joaquin County, carrying on a gun battle with officers along the way. Hundreds of shots were fired.

Two of the gunmen died, as well as one of the women, who was used as a human shield. The county coroner concluded she was fatally wounded by police.

On Monday, authorities identified the alleged driver who dropped the robbers off as 21-year-old Pablo Ruvalcaba. He is still wanted for questioning. Somewhere after the drop-off, police say a 16-year-old got behind the wheel and ditched the car in a neighborhood not far away. The vehicle was found two days later.

The teen, a suspected gang member whom police would not identify because of his age, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact and booked into a juvenile detention center, said Stockton police spokesman Joe Silva.

The lone gunman who survived the robbery, Jaime Ramos, 19, has been charged with 35 felony counts, including murder and attempted murder.

The family of the slain hostage, Misty Holt-Singh, has requested public records from police in connection with her killing.
