An L.A. County sheriff's SWAT team and South Gate police surrounded a home Wednesday in Paramount, where three suspects — believed to have stolen a gun from another house — were holed up, officials said.
The incident ended Wednesday but it was unclear how many suspects were arrested. [Updated, 3:17 p.m. Dec. 18: Sheriff's officials said three suspects were arrested.]
The suspects had fled to the home in the 13600 block of Racine Avenue after breaking into a house in nearby South Gate shortly before 9 a.m., said South Gate Police Capt. Darren Arakawa.
During the burglary, the suspects were interrupted by a homeowner and fled the house, he said.
Arakawa said the victim reported that a gun had been stolen during the break-in.
South Gate police and then a sheriff's special-weapons team followed the three suspects to the Racine Avenue address, Arakawa said. The standoff ended a short time later.ALSO:
