The identity of a teenage boy who was fatally shot in the Mid-Wilshire area Sunday was released Tuesday.

Charles Adam Hill, 17, of Los Angeles was gunned down at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of South Redondo Boulevard, according to authorities.

Hill and another unidentified male were standing on the sidewalk talking when a white or silver four-door car with four men inside pulled up, said Lt. John Radtke, of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“All we know is a car pulled up and someone started firing from inside the car and two people were struck,” Radtke said.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene, said Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.

The other victim was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery, Radtke said.

Hill’s death was ruled a homicide, the third within a 1-mile radius this year, according to a Los Angeles Times crime mapping database.
