One vehicle was “fully involved in fire” and a law enforcement officer may have been among the injured after a traffic collision Wednesday afternoon on the 405 Freeway, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 1:45 p.m. and three lanes -- the carpool and No. 1 and No. 2 lanes -- on the northbound side of the freeway at Ventura Boulevard were blocked, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said there was “an officer that was reported injured,” but that it remained unclear if the information was accurate.

In an alert, the LAFD said that at least two patients were being evaluated, including one who could have been an officer.

The extent of the injuries and what caused the incident remain unclear.
