Two women killed, two others injured in Claremont car crash

Two young woman were killed and two others injured early Saturday in a single-vehicle crash in Claremont, authorities said.

Joanna Munoz, 19, and Monique Magana, 20, were passengers in a black sedan whose driver lost control about 12:45 a.m. in the 300 block of East Foothill Boulevard, according to Claremont police Lt. Jason Walters and a Los Angeles County coroner’s investigator.

The driver of the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was standing outside the car when officers arrived. The three passengers were trapped inside.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene. Magana was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital where she died.

The driver and the third passenger were transported to LAC+USC Medical Center. Their names and ages were not given.
