Don’t be alarmed, USC says shooting is part of a drill
USC has warned those on campus Thursday morning that a shooting situation will be simulated inside a campus building.
It’s part of a “full-scale” safety training exercise on the University Park campus and involves the Los Angeles police and fire departments.
“You may notice emergency vehicles responding to Waite Phillips Hall and Birnkrant Residential Hall as part of the drill,” the university public safety department said in an email.
The training exercise was set to begin at 7 a.m. and last until noon.
