Whittier man shot and killed; suspects remain at large, police say
A 34-year-old man was shot and killed in Whittier on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The unidentified man was shot shortly after noon while he was standing outside an apartment complex in the 8000 block of Washington Avenue, said Lt. Bryan Ellis, a spokesman for the Whittier Police Department.
A group of suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and remain at large, Ellis said.
Officers responding to the scene performed CPR on the victim, he said. The man was later transfered to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
