The Los Angeles Police Department said officers spoke to the wife of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige after a missing person’s report was filed and they determined she was not in any jeopardy.

Shelly Miscavige declined to talk to LAPD officers about the controversy swirling around her, but the discussion prompted them to close the missing persons case, said LAPD Commander Andy Smith.

Shelley Miscavige’s whereabouts had been in question after actress Leah Remini reported filed the missing persons report.

Remini made headlines last month when she publicly left the Church of Scientology.

The church and Shelley Miscavige attorneys have denied she was missing. “This is just harassment. It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet,” a representative told The Times earlier.
