A 22-year-old Compton man is being held on $1-million bond after he was arrested on suspicion of murder after he told authorities he had killed his girlfriend and buried her in a backyard.
The suspect, Devion Anderson, surrendered at the Compton sheriff's station.
Authorities said they were called to the 400 block of South Pannes Avenue at 10:53 p.m. Monday to investigate a domestic disturbance.
When they arrived, they discovered a mound of freshly ground dirt in the backyard, according to a news release.
With the assistance of the Compton Fire Department, authorities partially unearthed the grave and found the body of a young woman.
The name of the woman was not released because authorities had not yet notified her family.
