Richard 'Scar' Lopez

A founder of the East L.A. vocal band Cannibal & the Headhunters, Lopez, center, and three other high school students scored a national hit in the mid-1960s with "Land of 1000 Dances." In 1965, they opened for the Rolling Stones, the Righteous Brothers and the Beatles. He was 65.
