Hot Property:  Model Tyra Banks to sell Beverly Hills estate where she’s been living her ‘FabLife’

Share

Model and television personality Tyra Banks has put her romantic Beverly Hills estate on the market at $7.75 million.

She renovated the Spanish Colonial-style home, built in 1926, while maintaining key architectural elements. The “FabLife” series co-host put an estimated $2 million into work on the house, which was once owned by actress Marion Davies, publisher William Randolph Hearst’s companion.

Vintage French doors and hardware, clerestory windows, and travertine stone and maple plank floors are among the details. Hand-crafted tiles decorate the outdoor fountains and stairways in the main house.

A remodeled kitchen, a media room, a library, a sun room, a formal dining room, four bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two partial baths are within some 6,000 square feet of living space.

The master suite features a sitting room, city views, a model-worthy walk-in closet and a safe room.

The outdoor kitchen was one of her improvements. A fire pit, a swimming pool and lawn complete the grounds.

Banks, 41, has been a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl and a Victoria’s Secret model. She has been an executive producer and judge on “America’s Next Top Model” since 2003.

She bought the house in 2004 for $3.085 million, public records show. Banks owns other real estate in the L.A. area and New York. She is selling because she has found another property in Malibu Hills.

Designed by Angelus Temple architect A.F. Leicht, who was known for his distinctive designs, the fanciful home features original 1924 details including ornate wood accents, stained-glass murals and elaborately shaped windows and ceilings.

A circular sunken sun room adjoins the step-down living room. A rotunda entry, a dining room, a den/office, a billiards room with a bar, a library/study, six fireplaces, five bedrooms, and four full bathrooms and a powder room are within 5,161 square feet of living space. The master suite features its own balcony.

The grounds of more than a third of an acre include a spa, gardens, fountains and lawn. Views take in the cityscape and canyons.

Sia, 39, has released six studio albums, including last year’s “1000 Forms of Fear” with the hit “Big Girls Cry.” She has announced her upcoming “This Is Acting” album.
