A LITTLE HISTORY

In 1736, Thomas Penn and Benjamin Eastburn selected and surveyed the place at the confluence of Lehigh Valley River and

Delaware

River – called "Thousand Acre Tract" or "Lechawitauk" by the native Indians. This became Easton in 1750. The town was called Easton after Thomas Penn's wife Juliana Fermor's home estate of Easton-Neston, Northamptonshire, England.

POP EASTON

Larry Holmes

, former heavyweight boxing champion and restaurant owner who was inducted into The International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008, is a native of Easton.

Sally Jessy Raphael
