Dan Koppen, who was born in Iowa but moved to Whitehall Township, was a three-year starter on Boston College's football team before being drafted as a center by the New England Patriots in 2003. The Patriots won two of the three Super Bowls he played in. On the team's injured list, he missed a chance to play a fourth Super Bowl this year. He was a Pro Bowl starter in 2008.
