Gen. Thomas R. Morgan

Gen. Thomas R. Morgan, a Slatington native, had a 36-year career with the U.S. Marine Corps. He fought in the Vietnam War and commanded troops in Europe, earning a Bronze Star. He became Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps from 1986 to 1988, retiring as the second-highest ranking Marine in the country.
