Phillies place Justin Bour, Edubray Ramos on DL

The Phillies made a few roster moves Thursday afternoon before wrapping up their series with Washington.

First baseman Justin Bour (left oblique strain) and reliever Edubray Ramos (blister on right index finger) were placed on the 10-day disabled list. While the Phils have lost Ramos for a bit, they will add Luis Avilan to the bullpen. Avilan was acquired Wednesday in a trade with the White Sox.

After finishing the series with the Nationals, the Phillies head to Toronto for a three-game set with the Blue Jays. Losers of four straight, the Phils entered Thursday three games behind first-place Atlanta in the NL East and 1½ games out of the wild-card lead, and Vegas — among others — aren’t liking their chances of making the playoffs.
