"Great job on the interior; this is a very cool space. The food was quite good; the service was slow; but for a new place, I can let that slide. The music doesn't fit the bar at all. You'd expect rock/pop/hip-hop at a sports bar; you get basically a drum machine. I'll be back for sure, though. Cool room and good food." -John
"I've been to Red Ivy several times and am never disappointed with the service, food and drinks. I am so happy to have the delicious pizza I grew up on in the South Side in the city!" -Melanie
New Checkerboard Lounge for Blues 'n' Jazz
"Doesn't look like there is a bad seat in the house. Great music at a very reasonable price ($10 for Koko Taylor and her Blues Machine)." -Javier R.
"This place is smokin'. Badass design elements and a touch of sex appeal make this place a destination. Have you seen what those waitresses wear? Nice job, Cabaret! It was nice to see a proper balance of men and women in a discotheque for once instead of the typical 'wolf pack' crowd. Sweet sign out front! Can you put my name on it for my birthday?" -Michael R.
"This place is killin' it. What a cool marquee! I love the waitresses' sexy outfits, too." -Shelly
Wicker Park Tavern
"Great new bar. Really classes up the corner of North and Damen. Big leather couches, bartenders with ties, and a great looking space-especially considering what was there before. While the bar doesn't fit the mold of a typical Wicker Park/Bucktown lounge (like Rodan or Celebrity), that's the reason I like it so much: something different." -Wicker Park Local
"Feels like any other bar you can go to in Lincoln Park. What a terrible thing they did to a classic late-night spot." -R
"Came here randomly and was quite impressed. Service was great; everyone was so friendly. It's a very intimate setting: darkly lit, candles, soft jazz playing in the background. Drinks are not overpriced, and they have great martinis." -Laura
"Went around 11-ish on Saturday night. Nice atmosphere. Seemed to be an older crowd (late 30s/40s-ish). Would go again for an after-dinner drink, or a low-key, casual night with friends." -K
"When we went there [on a] Friday it was awesome. The bar is set up with cool colors and comfy furniture. The drinks were great; I had the Cable Car and loved it. I did not expect this kind of place as a hotel bar." -Jenny
