"I have never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious at Cafe Demir. The staff is always extremely friendly and gracious, and the food is affordable, thoroughly satisfying and unique. I go here often and I always leave feeling like I had a great meal."

"The food is fabulous and very authentic! And I should know, I'm married to a Turk who has been in the food service business for years! Just close your eyes and say 'ahh!'"

Turkish Cuisine and Bakery
"I had a group of 12 people go out to eat here for a double birthday. The food was incredible. The servers were really hustling. It was Saturday night, so we waited a little while for some things but not long. The belly dancer came at 9 p.m. and the show was a scream! One of the servers suggested a couple of dessert plates for the table. Their pastries are delicious. I tasted several things and not one of them was bad. We were very pleased with the bill as well."

"An excellent, homey restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of nice touches and generally good food, even if it is a bit uneven sometimes. It strikes me that, for the money, this is one of the better deals in Chicago. Lots of Turkish patrons seem to flock here, which seems to me to be an indication that it's doing a lot of things right."
"Great place. Food and service are excellent, with large portions at very reasonable prices. The back dining room is cozy and quiet. Nice atmosphere and great Turkish music that's not too loud but loud enough to set the proper mood. Be sure to get the baklava for dessert."

A La Turka
"Twenty of us dined here for my boyfriend's birthday and we had the most wonderful time! The night started off with wonderful appetizers that our waiter recommended. The Turkish pizza is to die for. We had never been to a Turkish restaurant before, so it was extremely helpful that the waiter explained all of the specials. All of our plates were clean at the end of the night. The entertainment was great; the belly dancer gave special attention to our party since it was a birthday. Then to top the night off, the owner provided free desserts and fruit to our whole party to celebrate the event. The whole staff was wonderful and very generous. We will definitely come back!"

"It was a wonderful experience: tasty food, great music and friendly staff. I recommend it to everyone."

Cousin's Turkish Fine Dining
"I really like this restaurant. It's cozy, the food is excellent, the service is pretty good and you really do get the best bang for your buck. I like the feta salad, the Turkish kebabs and the lamb dishes. Chef Mehmet is super-friendly and tends to come out and chat. I definitely recommend this place and go there often. Don't leave without trying Turkish coffee."
-- Yesim I.
"We've tasted heaven. Chef Mehmet created a feast for seven of us, with a full table of appetizers, including fried eggplant cakes; a delightful seafood salad (shrimp, scallops and calamari); a hummus, tabouli, and dolmades plate; and a light cheese in pastry puffs. Yum! The lentil soup was hearty and just right for a cold winter night. The main courses included lamb chops on a bed of white and dill rice and salmon that melted in our mouths."
