A boarded up hospital on Ellis Island in New York. The building was part of the island's contagious disease ward, which opened in 1909 as part of the main hospital complex. This section of Ellis Island, where 29 neglected hospital and support buildings are located, has been on the National Trust's list three times, including this year.
