Delta Airlines might have given passengers to Fargo a gift by putting them on a different flight on Christmas Day, but it cost Aberdeen passengers two hours.

Flight 3948 from Minneapolis to Aberdeen made an extra stop at Fargo after the Fargo flight was canceled because of too few passengers, said Joe Williams a spokesman for Pinnacle Airlines, which operated the flight for Delta.

The Aberdeen flight had room for the Fargo travelers, so they were booked on the flight, he said.

The plane flew to Fargo, dropped off passengers there and then flew to Aberdeen.

The flight, which was scheduled to land at the Aberdeen airport at 11 p.m., arrived at 1 a.m., Williams said.
