The Aberdeen City Council will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. Monday (Nov. 19) in the courtroom on the third floor of the Municipal Building, 123 S. Lincoln St.
Reminders of upcoming scheduled City Council meetings:
- At 4 p.m. Nov. 26 for a work session regarding animal control open to the public in City Council chambers.
- At 8:45 a.m. Nov. 27 for a joint meeting with the Brown County Commission in the Brown County Commission chambers regarding a rezoning ordinance.
- At 4 p.m. Dec. 3 for a work session open to the public in the City Council chambers regarding an Aberdeen area master transportation plan update.
The agenda items for Monday’s meeting include:
Landscaping: (Continued) Possible first reading of Ordinance No. 12-11-07, amending Article IV of Chapter 56 of the Aberdeen Municipal Code dealing with landscaping requirements.
Malt beverage license: Application for new retail on-off sale malt beverage license for Sergio Aguirre, DBA LaMonarca Mexican Store, 3015 Sixth Ave. S.E., Suite No. 9, set hearing date of Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
Advertisement for bids: 1. New ambulance for Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, set bid date of 1 p.m. Dec. 6, 2013, water treatment chemicals, set bid date at 2 p.m. Dec. 4.
Lottery notice: American Red Cross of Brown County, receive and place on file.
Malt beverage license: Possible approval of the transfer of retail on-off sale malt beverage license with video lottery from Donna and Lyle Hopfinger DBA Golden Aces Casino, 614 Sixth Ave. S.W., to Jessie L. Nelson, DBA Golden Aces Casino at 614 Sixth Ave. S.W.
Truck cab and chassis: Recommendations on bids for one 2013 single-axle truck cab and chassis, box and hoist for Public Works Department. Utility Division: Possible approval to award bids Option No. 1 to Sanitation Products for the cab and chassis in the amount of $56,339 and to Northern Truck Equipment for the truck box and hoist in the amount of $13,775 and authorize the city manager and finance officer to sign all necessary documents after approval by the city attorney.
Refuse collection unit: Recommendations on bids for 2013 refuse collection unit for Public Works Department. Solid Waste Division: Possible approval to award the truck chassis bid to Crawford Trucks and equipment for $82,323.11, the packer body bid to Olympic Sales for $25,940, declare surplus a 2003 Sterling truck as trade-in to Olympic Sales, and authorize the city manager and finance officer to sign all necessary documents after approval by the city attorney.
Truck box and hoist: Recommendations on bids for 2013 tandem truck/box and hoist for the Public Works Department, Street Division: possible approval to award the truck chassis bid of $86,165 and box and hoist bid in the amount of $22,479 less trade allowance for Option 2 in for $15,000 for a net bid of $93,644 to Boyer Trucks, declare surplus a 2000 International truck as trade-in to Boyer Trucks, and authorize the city manager and finance officer to sign all necessary documents after approval by the city attorney.
