Eric Odenbach, of Eureka, has been named by Gov. Dennis Daugaard to the South Dakota Aeronautics Commission.
Odenbach, 37, farms in the Eureka area and worked briefly for the state Department of Transportation in its materials lab, according to a release from the DOT announcing the appointment. He has an associate's degree in engineering and a bachelor of science degree in construction management. He recently received his private pilot certificate for single-engine aircraft.
Odenbach succeeds Buron Lindbloom, of Pierre, who served 25 years on the Aeronautics Commission. Other members include Richard Pearson, of Brandon; Travis Lantis, of Spearfish; Larry Nelson, of Rapid City; Vernon "Skip" VanDerhule, of Yankton; Larry Vetterman, of Hot Springs and Chris Funk, of Madison.
