Sen. John Thune
, R-S.D., plans to be in Aberdeen on Friday to host a noon town hall meeting at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel. This event is free and open to the public.
Thune plans to discuss the recently passed tax relief package, upcoming debt ceiling negotiations and the importance of cutting government spending, according to a news release.
Thune said in a news release that he believes the economy is hurt by deficit spending, and that the economy will continue to struggle unless Congress can stop spending so much money.
The visit to Aberdeen is part of a series of meetings that Thune is scheduled to hold throughout South Dakota. Other places Thune will host a meeting include Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Brookings.
