I'm just not a fan of cardio. I mean, I really don't like doing cardio. Sorry for the brevity of this blog post. But I'm simply out of breath.
Who's up for some ice cream? Not me. I'm on a diet, remember?
Temptation is everywhere.
I was in the grocery store yesterday and was assaulted by a display of Cadbury Eggs. I love those things. I checked the packaging and discovered each treat is 150 calories. That's not terrible. I bought one and ate it. Listen, I'm not going to deprive myself entirely in the name of wellness.
Here's how I reconciled my decision. Two pieces of wheat bread equal 120 calories. Why not skip the bread on the tuna sandwich and save those calories in favor of the Cadbury Egg? It's only a 30 calorie difference.
I understand that "not all calories are the same." But I've worked hard at the gym. Every once in a while we should reward ourselves for that effort. It's only 150 calories, right?
If you haven't heard, I entered another weight loss challenge. This time my foe is Brent Watts. Yes, the Brent Watts. You may remember two years ago I defeated former News 7 reporter, Joy Sutton.
Am I up to the challenge again? We'll see. The weigh-in was Friday and I tipped the scales at 243 lbs. Brent was 208 lbs. My body fat was 27%, only 1% higher than when I finished the last weight loss challenge.
Our friends at the Salem YMCA will be putting us through our paces. Brent and I will be on the same team working out together. Should be "fun." If your idea of fun is being put through excruciating pain in the name of "wellness."
Be sure to keep up with how Brent and I are doing on the News 7 Mornin' page of WDBJ7.com
