2008 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
Both Democratic and Republican primary voters said the economy was the most important issue facing the country. In the Democratic primary, most backers of Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama would be satisfied if the other candidate wins the nomination.
Support among female voters was an important part of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's victory Tuesday in the New Hampshire Democratic primary, according to exit poll data. In the Republican primary, independent voters helped carry Sen. John McCain to a win.
