Though best known for acting performances on TV in "The Streets of San Francisco" and in such feature blockbusters as "Romancing the Stone," "Basic Instinct," "Fatal Attraction" and "Wall Street," for which he won the best actor Oscar, the eldest son of legend Kirk Douglas is also a highly respected film producer.
Michael Douglas has produced more than 20 feature films, including "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975), which won the Academy Award for best picture. He has been nominated for four Emmy Awards and has also received the Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.
Past honorees of the Selznick award include the production team of Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, Roger Corman and Robert Evans. Douglas will receive the Selznick at the 20th annual PGA Awards at the Hollywood Palladium on Jan. 24.
