VAN BUREN COUNTY—Two teenagers were detained and a stolen truck was recovered in Arlington Township early Friday.
On Saturday morning, Sheriff Dale Gribler announced that at 3:54 a.m. Friday, Van Buren County Sheriff's Office deputies on patrol came up a Bangor Primary School truck westbound on M-43 from M-40 that had been reported stolen to the Bangor Police Department at 9:37 p.m. Thursday. Officers from Bangor and the Michigan State Police stopped the stolen vehicle in the 50000 block of M-43.
The driver -- a 16-year-old boy -- was very uncooperative with officers and was arrested and taken to the Allegan County Juvenile Detention Facility for being in possession of the stolen truck.
A 16-year-old girl was turned over to her parents.
Details about how they came in possession of the stolen vehicle remain under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office.
