Most hotels in downtown Grand Rapids are booked, from the JW Marriott to the Holiday Inn, and it's been that way for weeks now. People are preparing to ring in the new year and attend some big attractions downtown.

Right now organizers are setting the stage at Rosa Parks Circle for the Hot New Years Eve Bash. Citadel Broadcasting is hosting the free night of entertainment, where crowds can catch three national acts and watch the ball drop in downtown Grand Rapids at midnight. They're expecting a crowd of more than twenty thousand people.

If you're looking to party under the lights indoors, the JW Marriott is hosting it's first annual New Year's Eve event. It's called the Glitter Ball, two parties under one roof. There's also the VIP Club Hop in Grand Rapids, where a limo bus will take you around to downtown hot spots.

If it's more of a family oriented event you're looking for, the Grand Rapids Childrens Museum is also hosting a New Year's Eve party, complete with a balloon drop at 7:30 for the kids.
