Pretrial and setting of jury trial
Currently in custody, Roberto Ortiz is being charged with 11 counts ranging from attempted murder to assault on an individual with a semiautomatic rifle.
Ortiz, initially represented by Lance Korten and Ryan Childers in past pre-trials, will now be defended by attorney Edward Sada this Tuesday during a pre-trial and jury setting trial.
The two will meet in the Imperial County Courthouse, Department 1 at 8:39 a.m. for scheduling of a jury trial.

Jose Anthony Rodriguez is charged with eight counts, ranging from unlawful sexual intercourse with an adult, sodomy with an individual under 16-year-old and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
Rodriguez remains in custody in the Imperial County jail.
He is expected in court with attorney Eric Beaudikofer on Tuesday in the El Centro Courthouse Department 1 and 8:36 a.m. for a pre-trail conference.

Miguel Angel Campos is expected to be back in court Tuesday to face four charges ranging from attempted murder, attempt to remove a firearm from a peace officer and battery on a peace officer.
Campos, in custody in the Imperial County jail, is being represented by attorney Thomas Storey.
The trial proceeds at 1:30 p.m. in Imperial County Courthouse Department 5 for day 10 of trial.
