Country singer and songwriter Taylor Swift’s teenage years might have been the best you could ask for as a young adult. Apparently it just keeps getting better…
Taylor celebrates her birthday and she has plenty to celebrate this year as the country-pop princess turns 22 today. The natural beauty was named CMA Entertainer of the Year, Artist of the Year, Billboard’s 2011 Woman of the Year and one of CMT’s Artists of the Year.
Swift shares some words of advice for her youthful fans who also hope to follow along in her footsteps:
“Get inspiration from all your heroes, but try to be something completely different from your heroes. You know, for me, I think that writing my own songs was a way to create what I wanted to create, and music about my life, and that way it kind of became just a diary put to music every time I put out a new record.” Taylor plans on releasing her latest album in 2012.
The birthday girl will be honored among her friends also in the music industry during CMT’s Artists of the Year, which, by the way, is airing tonight .
CMT Artists of the Year is an extravagant celebration honoring the achievements and highlights of five country music superstars -- Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift. Hosted by actor Rob Lowe and broadcast from Nashville, this exclusive and invitation-only 90-minute special, premiering Dec. 13 at 9/8c, will feature performances by the artists themselves as well celebrity peers. Accompanying this musical splendor will be the evening's cuisine prepared by celebrity chef Stephanie Izard.
Happy Birthday, Taylor Swift!
