ESCONDIDO, Calif.—Family and friends of murdered teen Amber Dubois celebrated her 16th birthday at the location believed to be where she was abducted.
At a chained gate along side Stanley Street in Escondido more than a hundred people gathered Monday night. They shared birthday their wishes for Amber and sang happy birthday to her.
Amber Dubois vanished while walking to Escondido High School February 13, 2009. Days went by and the search for her intensified, spanning across the North County and all of San Diego. Posters were plastered from from Imperial County, all the way to the Mexico border.
The biggest break in the case came with the arrest of John Gardner for Chelsea King's murder. On Saturday March 6th, a tip lead investigators to a remote area of Pala, in Northern San Diego where amber's remains were found.
