The for-profit University of Phoenix is closing 115 locations, including its Wichita campus.
Parent company Apollo Group Inc. says its net income fell 60 percent in its fiscal fourth quarter, hurt by a sharp drop in enrollment at the University of Phoenix and higher costs.
A spokesperson did not give Eyewitness News a timetable for the closure but insisted current students would be able to finish their classes and programs.
The campus posted the following message on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon:
At University of Phoenix, we are always striving to improve and develop new technology and programs to provide a better student experience.
From time to time, it is necessary to reevaluate our operations and make changes that help us better support you. With more students than ever before choosing to complete their degrees online, we will be making some changes in select regions
