A 14-year-old boy was fatally wounded during a shooting in Pacoima on Monday night, authorities said.

The youth, whose name had not been released this morning, had collapsed with a gunshot wound when he was found by officers responding to reports of a shooting at Glenoaks and Van Nuys boulevards about 8:30 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Officer Kate Lopez.

The youth was taken to a hospital where he died, Lopez said.

Investigators questioned two groups of boys at the scene, who said they had been involved in a fistfight when the shooting began, Lopez said.

Lopez said it was unclear whether the boy who was killed in the shooting was armed or participated in the fight.

Investigators have yet to release descriptions of the suspects and no arrests have been made, Lopez said. Autopsy results are pending.
