FREDERICK, Md. —
Beginning Monday, Fort Detrick
will redirect all traffic to the Rosemont and Old Farm gates in an effort to save operating costs, according to a news release from the city of Frederick.
With this change, Opossumtown Gate will be closed, according to a news release.
Veteran’s Gate will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those with proper Department of Defense identification. It will be closed on weekends and holidays.
Rosemont Gate will remain open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on weekends and holidays.
Old Farm Gate will remain as a 24-hour gate and will conduct vehicle inspections for visitors. This will be the only gate open at Fort Detrick after hours and on weekends and holidays.
