Governor might be pumped up for a return to film
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said in an online chat with his Twitter followers Thursday that he expects to write “a book or two” once he leaves office in January — and maybe even return to the big screen.
The bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-politician said publishers have “been after me” for years to write an autobiography, but he’s never had the requisite patience.
Schwarzenegger said he had “no idea” if a potential return to Hollywood moviemaking was in his future, but he left the door open. “Depends if someone comes with a great script,” he said.
The governor made a cameo appearance in the summer blockbuster “The Expendables,” directed by his friend Sylvester Stallone.
He further stoked the movie rumor mill by posting a photo of himself meeting with James Cameron, the director of the “Terminator” films, and writing that the two were “working on something together”.
Cameron recently donated $1 million to the campaign against Proposition 23, the ballot measure that would suspend the state’s global warming law that Schwarzenegger championed.
Schwarzenegger’s 1.8 million Twitter followers peppered him with questions that his press secretary culled through for the live chat. The governor called Twitter a “fun way of communicating … with the real people out there.”
He also used the website to answer an old question for Schwarzenegger aficionados: Who would win a mythical fight among The Terminator, The Predator and Mr. Freeze?
“Obviously the Terminator,” he wrote.
