Crash site

On Feb. 4, 1995, George Damaa was driving with his girlfriend to a restaurant in Malibu. His Mercedes-Benz crossed the center line and struck a Buick Reatta driven by John Masterson. Both cars were traveling 45 to 55 miles an hour, and Masterson, his wife Mary and Bucher were killed in the crash. Detectives found no evidence of speeding, drunken driving or other impairment, but a jury convicted Damaa of manslaughter by vehicular negligence and he was sentenced to three years in county jail.
