From Times Staff Reports

A former piano teacher accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl is scheduled to be arraigned today on new charges of molesting two other girls while they were his students, authorities said.

Daniel Peter Gaudin, 68, taught at students’ homes throughout Orange County and in a private room at the Music Store in La Mirada when the alleged molestations took place from 2004 to 2006, investigators said.

After being charged in the first case, Gaudin attended all required court appearances while out on bail until December, when he failed to appear at a pretrial hearing. He was arrested this year while entering Canada on a flight from Germany.

Gaudin is being held without bail while awaiting trial on the first charge, set to begin in September.

If convicted, he could face 24 years in prison in the first case and 32 years in the second, involving 8- and 9-year-old girls.
