  • I live in Hemet, I tried to buy in Temecula, but could not afford it at the time, so I bought a home in Hemet, and boy am I glad I did. I can still afford the payments. Thank God. But, my heart belongs in Temecula. it is a great place to live and raise a family. I lived their renting for 15 years...There really is not a better place to live in Southern California. Temecula and all Inland Empire Cities will recover from this.. Everyone is so negative...If we can all hang on we will be fine...

  • This is the exact same thing that happened to Moreno Valley (ex-Sunnymead) a decade earlier. People were looking more for the things they could get than keeping the things they had. Life was all about equating acquistion with happiness. And there are plenty of people out there willing to take our money if we are willing to part with it. Selling the dream was in reality selling the bullshit. Let the buyer beware. Our Roman forebears knew that well: Caveat Emptor.

  • 'just imagine gas at $8/gallon and a 45-60 mile commute. And those $500/month AC bills,' BINGO. Couple that with big Heloc SUVs, layoffs and some folks still clinging on to their RE related careers. Doh!

  • I believe Temecula is very upscale. Just because we are in a downturn, it's happening all over Southern Cal. I remember back in the early 90's, there were tons of foreclosures in Orange County and properties were going cheap and no one wanted it. But you look now at Orange County. This will be the same in the Inland Empire in the near future. Upscale neighbors like Temecula will flourish but must whether the storm. Upscale is based on good schools and look at Temecula, the number 1 (SAT 9 scores) school district in Riverside County. I believe they are the only school district to score 800 or above in Riverside County.

  • Everywhere you go in South Cal, the housing market is down. The costal area with homes/condos selling for $1million back 2 years ago are now at $500K per our appraisal friend. I even remember back in early 90's, no one wanted Orange County and foreclosed properties were going for 100K. Remember Temecula is upscale (you look at the schools and it's the number 1 school district in Riverside County based on the Sat 9 scores), and you must weather the bad storm like the OC residents in the 90's. Remember the Inland Empire will double the population in 15 years and people usually go to the most desirable neighbors like Temecula.

  • There are $22,000,000 homes sitting on the hill. I'm glad people are leaving....

  • I don't think you can blame the environmental folks for this one! Wait until gas hits $8, you won't be able to pave your roads, drive your Mercedes, or water your golf courses. The only pity I have is for all those trees and other natural resources wasted on such stupidity!
