Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes east of Oakland

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday morning one mile from Blackhawk, less than 30 miles east of Oakland, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:32 a.m. PDT at a depth of 7.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was three miles from San Ramon, four miles from Danville, six miles from Dublin and 58 miles from Sacramento.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
